School Visits

Bland Close Educational Access

Come and join us on the farm for hands-on learning and fun in the great outdoors!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for such a wonderful day. The children were buzzing at home time telling their parents all about it. Everything was pitched just right and you were all so patient and caring with the children. We will definitely be back .

Thank you so much!

Year 1 Teacher

Are you looking to take your class on an exciting, engaging and life changing school trip? Then look no further... oh yes, and it's completely free of charge!

'The children (and adults) all had a great time at Bland Close Farm. We have received emails from parents to say their children didn't stop talking at home about the experiences they had whilst at the Farm. This also carried on to today in school.

The children enjoyed all the aspects of the Farm whilst talking to them today. However, there was one hands down favourite moment for all the children and this was seeing the piglets. Thank you for giving the children the opportunity to visit your farm and engage in life skills that they may not have had the opportunity of gaining'.

Bland Close Farm is a working farm with over 100 acres of land, and main enterprises of beef cattle, arable and egg production.

Your visit will be ran by a qualified teacher, with vast experience, who works on the farm.

We aim to get children and young people on to the farm for some outdoor education full of fun, hands-on learning experiences. To learn about farming in the 21st century, and discover the relationships between farming, their food and the environment

What will the visit involve?

An engaging and informative tour of the farm.

A chance to meet and greet our  animals.

A farming or environment lesson tailored to the needs of your class.

Exploring links between farming, conservation and food production.

Our educational visits are planned to fit around the needs of the group and take into account the seasons.  Please bear in mind this is a working farm and on the day of your visit organised activities will take into account the weather, the seasons and what is happening on the farm at the time of the visit.

How long will visits last?

Important Information

A day out on a farm is an enjoyable educational experience for many people.  However, animals can carry infections that may be harmful to people, especially children and pregnant women. Please wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before eating and before leaving the farm. A foot dip is required on arrival but we ask that all footwear worn on the day is clean.

We want to make sure you have an enjoyable time whilst keeping both the group and the animals safe.
